Product details
PRAHA WM129 is listed as primed pine shoe moulding supplied in a 12-foot stick. Its small shoe profile is a candidate for finishing the lower edge of a baseboard arrangement or covering a small visible gap. Compare a physical piece with the gap and adjoining trim before deciding whether the profile gives the result you want.
The size descriptions need confirmation. The current display lists 5/8 by 3/8 inch, while the original product title uses 11/16 by 7/16 inch. Neither should be treated as a measured cross-section of the available stick. Check the actual height, projection and profile before using it for gap coverage or matching an existing run.
Buying guide
Measure each trim run
Record straight runs separately, including short sections, returns and breaks at doors. Use the 12-foot stick format to make a cut plan rather than dividing the total room perimeter and assuming every offcut is usable. A piece long enough for one wall may leave an offcut that suits a shorter section, but corners and the desired join locations can change that arrangement.
Check height and projection together
A shoe profile has two useful fit checks: how high it sits against the existing base and how far it projects onto the adjoining surface. Measure the available WM129 piece and compare it with the visible gap. Because the published dimensions conflict, do not choose it solely from one catalog fraction or assume another product with the same profile number has an identical cross-section.
Compare shoe with quarter round
Place samples of the proposed trim beside the existing baseboard to compare the lower-edge appearance. Shoe and equal-leg quarter round can give different visual proportions. Choose the profile that covers the needed area while keeping the baseboard detail you want to see. Compare actual samples rather than using the unresolved WM129 size to make a numerical fit claim.
Plan the paint relationship
View the primed sample with the surrounding base and your chosen paint. Decide whether the new piece will match the existing trim finish or create a separate line. Keep useful offcuts for finishing tests and later touch-ups. Primer identifies a preparation state; it does not guarantee that the existing trim and new stick will have the same final color or sheen.
Worked cut plan: three trim runs
Suppose the measured runs are 10 feet, 7 feet and 4 feet. Their 21-foot total suggests two nominal 12-foot sticks, but the useful check is the cut assignment: the 10-foot run uses one stick, while the 7-foot and 4-foot runs share the second. That second assignment leaves one nominal foot for cuts and adjustments before the final corner measurements are known.
This example assumes sound, usable sticks and permits no automatic shortening of a measured run. Mark the angled ends, saw-cut loss and any joining detail before approving the final list. Keep the two remaining offcuts labeled by usable length rather than counting three leftover feet as one continuous piece. Because WM129's cross-section is unresolved, complete the sample-fit check before buying the sticks for this plan.
Worked projection check with a measured sample
Imagine that a checked sample projects three-eighths of an inch over the adjoining surface, while the widest visible gap on the drawing is seven-sixteenths. The difference is one-sixteenth of an inch, so that sample does not cover the drawn width by simple geometry. These are illustrative measurements, not a resolution of WM129's conflicting dimensions.
Compare the actual profile at the position where it will sit against the baseboard, and keep the floor's required movement and attachment detail separate. A catalog fraction is not a substitute for that sample fit.
Give each end a location and direction
On the cut list, name the room and wall for each shoe run and mark whether each end meets another run, a doorway casing or an exposed stopping point. Record which face will remain visible. Take an actual profile sample to the corner review so the height, projection and rounded face are considered together.
This prevents a useful-looking offcut from being assigned to an end whose direction or finished appearance it cannot serve. Leave the precise joint and cutting method with the installer after those locations are agreed.
Installation & care
Inspect and mark before cutting
Check the sticks for visible damage, unwanted surface appearance and usable length. Mark the pieces for their intended runs, leaving the corner and joining decisions with the installer. Review any length lost to cuts instead of counting every nominal foot as installed trim.
Confirm the attachment and gap detail
Have the actual trim, supporting surface and flooring requirements reviewed before choosing how it will be fixed. The moulding profile alone does not establish an acceptable fastening arrangement or the treatment of a floor's movement space. Match the fitting plan to the complete floor and baseboard system.
Use compatible finishing guidance
Check the supplied primer and the chosen paint or filler instructions before finishing the moulding. Test the combination on an offcut and compare the dry result with the existing trim. Use later care products that suit the completed finish rather than assuming the primed surface has a special scratch- or dent-resistance rating.
Plan the finish sequence with the cut list
Ask the finisher to identify which work will occur before fitting and which touch-ups will follow the cuts and attachment. Keep the chosen paint, primer and filler information with a dry sample of the accepted finish. If sticks are prepared away from the room, label them by their intended runs so a finished piece is not cut for the wrong location.
Review exposed ends and joins as part of that sequence. The primed-pine description does not establish a coating schedule, drying time or universal paint compatibility.
Product FAQs
Is the listed cross-section verified?
The two catalog descriptions disagree. Confirm the actual stick's dimensions before selecting it to cover a measured gap or match an existing profile.
Does one unit supply a loose linear foot?
The listing identifies a 12-foot stick. Confirm the selling arrangement and plan the order in whole sticks, with the cuts and offcuts considered separately.
Can I choose it only by profile WM129?
Use the code to identify the listing, then compare the available piece. Actual height, projection and shape remain the useful checks for your project.
