A non-duct setup needs the specified charcoal filters and returns air through the hood's louvers. Have the installer review the chosen arrangement with the cooking appliance and cabinet before relying on the convertible designation.

Read airflow values for the same test condition

The exact sheet lists high-speed HVI airflow at 0.1-inch static pressure as 250 CFM for vertical rectangular, 240 CFM for horizontal rectangular and 280 CFM for vertical round ducting. These are distinct from the 375 MAX open-air blower figure. Compare candidates using the relevant configuration and stated test condition. Neither figure guarantees capture in a particular kitchen; the installed route and cooking arrangement need their own review.

Evaluate the controls and cooking-area light

The model uses rocker switches for two fan speeds and a single lighting level. Check reach to the controls with your largest ordinary pot in place, and inspect the light's position relative to the cooking surface. Consider cabinet shadows and room lighting if replacing poor illumination is a priority. The supported LED feature establishes model design; its usefulness in your room depends on hood position and the actual selected unit.

Measure mounting height from the cooking surface

Use the CLSC2 standard mounting procedure

Use the exact filter and hood instructions for washing or replacement; do not transfer grease-filter washing guidance to a charcoal component. Leave removal access available below the hood and confirm which filters are present before choosing ducted or recirculating operation.

Does 375 MAX CFM describe airflow at 1.5 sones?

No. The 375 MAX value is an open-air blower rating, while 1.5 sones is normal-speed sound. Use the configuration-specific table for operating airflow comparisons.

Is a ductless filter supplied as standard?

Broan lists non-ducted charcoal filters as sold separately. Confirm selected-unit contents and the required reference before planning recirculation.

Does this exact model use EZ1 brackets?

The shared manufacturer manual explicitly excludes CLSC2 from EZ1. Use its standard mounting procedure for CLSC230BL.

Are manufacturer-listed accessories guaranteed with AHL stock?

No. Model literature describes standard or optional components. AHL must confirm the selected unit's filters, bulbs, damper, hardware and connection pieces.
