Product details
Delta Broderick 9690TL-DST is a single-handle pull-down kitchen faucet in Chrome with an exposed spring spout. The tightly coiled arch and horizontal support arm give the design a professional-inspired outline. The bright silver finish has a reflective appearance.
Touch2O with Touchless Technology supports three controls: bring a hand near the faucet, tap its surface or operate the handle. A touch-only mode is available, and water shuts off automatically after four minutes. TempSense changes LED color with water temperature. ShieldSpray pairs a focused jet with a surrounding water shield to help contain splashing.
The high-arc spout rotates through 360 degrees with a 20-inch retractable hose. Delta specifies a maximum flow of 1.8 GPM at 60 PSI and one-hole or three-hole installation with 8-inch spacing. MagnaTite magnetic docking holds the wand after it is returned to the spout. Touch-Clean spray openings simplify mineral removal. These are manufacturer model specifications. The model uses integrated InnoFlex PEX waterways and 3/8-inch compression connections.
Its listed flow also corresponds to 6.8 liters per minute at 414 kPa. The lever combines water-volume and temperature adjustment in one control.
The Broderick Pro drawing calls for at least 2-1/2 inches of clearance to the backsplash and mounting holes between 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Maximum deck thickness is 2-1/2 inches without the escutcheon, or 2-1/4 inches with the illustrated escutcheon arrangement. The three-hole layout uses 8-inch centers. Delta specifies a diamond-coated ceramic cartridge and two integral check valves inside the sprayer.
Its three wand functions are an aerated stream, spray and ShieldSpray, separating the general rinsing patterns from the focused cleaning mode.
The exact Broderick TL parts drawing gives distinct service numbers for the visible spray assembly and the components below the sink. RP100833 identifies the wand, RP90843 the hose and RP80523 the hose weight. The mechanical cartridge is RP91902, while the electronic solenoid is EP102240 for the Chrome finish. RP93410 identifies a separate filter entry.
These distinctions help identify which assembly needs attention when operation changes, and avoid treating a hose, wand, filter and electronic valve as one interchangeable replacement.
Buying guide
Choosing this faucet
Use the complete model number 9690TL-DST when comparing this kitchen faucet with other fixtures. The finish suffix and feature suffixes help distinguish similar looking products, so compare the exact model rather than only the collection name. Choose around the tasks performed at this sink: filling containers, rinsing produce or washing dishes. Compare the spout position with the bowl center and consider how the handle will be reached.
For a secondary prep sink, use the actual bowl dimensions rather than assuming a smaller countertop requires a particular faucet size. Use the product details and specifications above to narrow the choice, then compare the manufacturer drawing with the space where the fixture will be installed. Check the actual item photos and current listing information for the unit you are considering.
A model reference image shows the design; it does not establish the condition or contents of an individual item. Think about how the fixture will be used by everyone in the household, and where frequently used containers or dishes will sit during filling or rinsing.
Does proximity activation work at the wand? The user guide excludes the wand from proximity sensing. Use the spout, base or handle instead, with a hand within four inches; the area under the arch is most responsive. Touchless mode also responds to a tap. Delta recommends keeping nearby accessories, including a beverage faucet or soap dispenser, at least five inches away.
For a replacement project, decide which parts of the existing setup will stay: the sink, countertop, drain, water treatment equipment and supply valves can each affect the final choice. Write down the problem you want the new fixture to solve, such as reaching a different part of the bowl or making the controls easier to reach. Compare that goal with the exact model features above.
Planning the sink layout
Measure the mounting holes, countertop thickness and space between the faucet and backsplash. Check the full handle movement and the clearance under nearby cabinets or shelves. If the model has a moving spray wand, leave a clear path beneath the sink for the hose and its return movement. A useful planning sketch shows the mounting position, bowl outline, nearby fittings and plumbing route.
Measure from the finished surfaces that will remain after the project, including tile, a new backsplash or a replacement countertop. Compare spout reach and overall height as separate dimensions; the height of the outlet is different again. Do not rely on the apparent size in a product photo. If covering unused mounting holes is part of the plan, check the exact accessory and its dimensions before drilling or ordering.
Keep enough space to tighten the mounting hardware and to reach the connections with suitable tools. Resolve fit questions before removing the existing fixture, particularly where the sink or countertop cannot easily be modified.
How can proximity sensing be adjusted for the sink and counter? Close the handle and hold the base for six seconds to cycle modes. Five blue flashes identify high sensitivity, suited to stainless sinks and granite; four purple flashes identify low sensitivity for porcelain or acrylic sinks and quartz, laminate or Corian counters. Three red flashes indicate touchless off, retaining tap and handle operation.
Reopen the handle after selecting the setting. Check both the space above the sink and the space below it. A cabinet shelf, garbage disposal or storage organizer may restrict access even when the countertop has room for the faucet. Make a simple cardboard outline from the manufacturer drawing if the position is difficult to visualize, and check the handle movement against the surrounding finished surfaces.
Installation & care
Installation and everyday care
Follow the installation instructions for 9690TL-DST and the instructions for any connected equipment. Have the installer compare the site measurements, water connections and mounting arrangement before work begins. Identify the shutoff valves, protect the finished surfaces and inspect the existing supply connections. Use the specified fittings rather than forcing an adapter or changing a connection based on appearance.
After installation, check all accessible connections while the fixture is operating and again after it has been turned off. For everyday cleaning, start with a soft damp cloth and follow the finish care instructions for the exact model. Check the finish care instructions before using any cleaner or cleaning pad. Keep the outlet and moving controls free of accumulated residue using the approved cleaning method.
Treat installation and care as part of the complete sink or shower setup, including any connected drain, filtration or heating equipment. Before the installer starts, keep the model instructions and the intended fittings together at the work area. A dry fit can help reveal clearance or connection issues before the mounting hardware is tightened.
Keep the protective packaging until the surfaces have been inspected, and use the manufacturer procedure when flushing or testing the completed installation.
Product FAQs
How do I plan access and future maintenance?
Keep the shutoff valves and faucet connections accessible. On a faucet with a pull-down or pull-out wand, avoid storage that catches the hose or interferes with its return. Check the hose path after reorganizing the cabinet, because the available space can change as more items are stored below the sink. Save the exact SKU, finish name and installation paperwork with the project records.
Photographs of accessible connections can help identify the arrangement later without dismantling finished surfaces. When a service part is needed, match the manufacturer part diagram for the exact model rather than choosing a visually similar component. Check for visible moisture after service, and inspect any area where tubing or a hose could rub against another object. If operation changes, consult the troubleshooting steps for this model before replacing unrelated parts.
Keep a record of any separately installed equipment and its model number as well. This makes future filter changes, plumbing service or fixture replacement easier to plan and helps the next person working on the installation understand how the components are connected.
Which spray assembly matches the Chrome spring-spout configuration? The exact 9690TL drawing lists RP100833 as the sprayer, and Delta’s separate RP100833 page identifies it as the Chrome ShieldSpray wand for Broderick. Confirm the complete model and finish before selecting a replacement. Its manufacturer guidance describes soaking the wand in equal parts white vinegar and water to help loosen calcium buildup.
What should be checked below the cabinet during installation? The linked Broderick installation sheet says to keep its sense wiring unbundled rather than tying, twisting or bunching it. It also recommends an eight-inch minimum bend diameter when looping supply tubing, and prohibits pipe compound or other sealants on water-line connections. Plan room for those routes and for the hose to move freely.
Which electronic service identity is listed for Chrome? The TL diagram assigns Chrome to EP102240 and lists RP78389 for the battery box and RP93410 for the filter. The separate RP91902 entry is the mechanical cartridge. Use these exact entries to distinguish the affected assembly before ordering; the numbers identify service components and do not establish loose parts accompanying this unit.
What should I check before ordering?
Before ordering, compare the SKU 9690TL-DST, finish name and configuration with the item you intend to replace. Read the current listing and inspect the available item photos, including close views where supplied. Confirm which parts are present with the actual unit: do not assume that the standard manufacturer package and an individual store listing have identical contents.
If an accessory is needed for your installation, identify its exact part number and check whether it must be purchased separately. Make a short checklist of the mounting fittings, connection fittings and other items your installer requires. Compare that checklist with the listing before arranging the work. Select the correct store view and check the current quantity and fulfillment choices there.
Bring the model number and installation measurements when asking about fit so the advice refers to the specific fixture and location.
