Product details

Delta ShowerSense R52000E is a digital two-port thermostatic shower rough. It is the underlying equipment for a compatible digital shower system, with two outlet ports and independent temperature and volume control for each outlet. A separate digital controller is required for operation, so this model should be planned as one part of a complete system rather than a standalone shower fixture.

The rough uses separate mixing valves calibrated for each outlet. Delta lists a test button for the rough-in pressure check and a diagnostic LED. Built-in Wi-Fi supports connectivity with the DFC@Home app, and firmware can be updated through the connected user interface. The app supports shower presets, with a pause once the requested temperature has been reached when starting through the app.

The manufacturer configuration lists a 12-volt DC, 60-watt power adapter with a 2.5-meter wire and a 35-foot interface cable. The installation requires a 120-volt outlet. Pipe routing, compatible controller selection, electrical provision, and access to the rough should therefore be planned together before finishing the surrounding construction. The reference image shows the rough body rather than a complete finished shower arrangement.

Buying guide

Choosing this product

Start by deciding what you want this digital shower rough to improve: daily convenience, a worn component, a better layout, or a coordinated bathroom appearance. Write down the two changes that matter most. That makes it easier to compare relevant options without letting the photograph or finish become the only reason for choosing a model.

For a replacement, photograph the existing installation and record the current model before removing anything. A familiar appearance can hide important differences in mounting or connections. For a renovation, give your installer the exact product number early, while changes to the surrounding layout are still straightforward and before finishing materials are ordered.

Choose a digital shower rough as part of a complete shower system plan. Decide how many outlets the installation needs and how each will be controlled. Discuss the compatible interface, power arrangement, and service access with the installer before selecting trim or finishing the wall. The rough body is one component of the operating system.

Planning the fit and layout

Measure the actual installation area rather than estimating from a product photograph. Record the available space, nearby obstructions, and the position of anything the digital shower rough must connect to. Include access around the installation, since a component that fits its opening may still be awkward to use or difficult to service once installed.

Consider every person who will use the space and how they approach the fixture during an ordinary day. Try the intended movement before committing to the location. A simple cardboard outline or removable tape can help compare positions without drilling, moving plumbing, or making a permanent mark on a finished surface.

Plan space for the rough, pipework, power connections, and access needed for service. Consider the route from the rough to each outlet and the controller location. Avoid choosing a hidden mounting position solely because the unit fits there. Have the installer check the exact installation drawing against the wall construction and surrounding equipment.

Installation & care

Installation and everyday care

Read the instructions for the exact model before starting work, and check whether the existing installation provides the required support or connections. Lay the components on a protected surface and compare them with the instructions. If an unfamiliar step affects plumbing, electrical work, wall structure, or waterproofing, arrange appropriate help before proceeding.

Plan a cleaning routine that protects the finish and the surrounding materials. Start with the manufacturer's current care directions and use a soft cloth for ordinary wiping. Avoid choosing a cleaner solely because it works elsewhere in the bathroom. Keep tools, abrasive pads, and loose metal parts from scratching visible surfaces during installation.

Coordinate plumbing and electrical work using the manufacturer's installation instructions and the applicable requirements for the project. Keep the equipment protected during construction. Complete the specified tests before closing access or using the shower. Document commissioning settings and make sure household users know how to operate the system through its intended interface.

Product FAQs

How do I plan access and future maintenance?

Save the product number, installation instructions, and a few clear photographs in your household maintenance records. Include the location of any relevant access panel or connection. These notes can help a future installer identify the component without dismantling the area first, especially after the original packaging or renovation paperwork has been discarded.

Pay attention to changes during ordinary use, such as movement, an unfamiliar sound, a leak, or a control that becomes harder to operate. Compare the change with the model's maintenance instructions before adjusting anything. Address a developing problem while access is available, and use confirmed replacement parts rather than selecting by appearance alone.

Keep system identification, interface information, and service access details together. If a fault appears, record the displayed indication and the circumstances before resetting or changing settings. Follow the manufacturer's diagnostic process. Preserve access to the rough and its connections, and use confirmed compatible service parts when an installer repairs the system.

What should I check before ordering?

Use the full model number when confirming an order, including every finish suffix. Product families often contain similar-looking versions with different fittings or functions. Compare the listing's written identification with your project notes, and resolve any uncertainty about compatibility before scheduling installation or discarding a component that may still be needed.

If you need additional pieces, make a separate list and confirm each one against the exact manufacturer's documentation. A coordinated photo can show a finished arrangement without establishing what is supplied with a particular listing. Ask about the actual item and its documented contents whenever the project depends on a small fitting or fastener.

Confirm the rough model and the compatible controller separately, along with the necessary power and cable components. Review the actual listing's contents before scheduling work. A system illustration may show equipment that is ordered separately. Give every installer the same complete component list so plumbing, electrical, and finish decisions remain coordinated.
