Product details

Delta Trinsic T14459-LHD is Chrome Monitor 14 Series tub and shower trim supplied in a less-showerhead configuration. The visible design combines a round valve escutcheon, slim lever, shower arm and coordinating tub spout. LHD identifies the version that requires a showerhead to be ordered separately. A compatible MultiChoice Universal rough-in valve is also a separate purchase, so both components must be selected when planning a complete tub-and-shower installation.

The single-function pressure-balance cartridge helps maintain the relationship between hot and cold supply pressures when another fixture affects the plumbing system. Its lever controls temperature, rather than offering a separate volume control. Delta lists the trim as ADA compliant and identifies R10000-UNWS as a compatible MultiChoice valve. The technical sheet also describes a field-adjustable limit on handle rotation into the hot-water range.

The coordinating tub spout uses a pull-up diverter to direct water toward the separately selected showerhead. The manufacturer's sheet identifies adapter RP33794 for the spout's copper sweat or slip-on applications. Check the existing valve family, finished-wall depth and tub-spout connection before selecting this trim for a replacement. Use the full T14459-LHD identification when ordering, because the less-head version has a different scope from the complete-head trim.

Buying guide

Choosing this faucet

Use the complete model number T14459-LHD when comparing this shower fixture with other fixtures. The finish suffix and feature suffixes help distinguish similar looking products, so compare the exact model rather than only the collection name. Start with the valve and plumbing already in the wall. Match the complete model and trim series to the required rough-in rather than choosing from finish alone.

Decide where the shower outlet and any hand shower should sit for comfortable use. Measure the usable shower space before planning changes. Use the product details and specifications above to narrow the choice, then compare the manufacturer drawing with the space where the fixture will be installed. Check the actual item photos and current listing information for the unit you are considering.

A model reference image shows the design; it does not establish the condition or contents of an individual item. Think about how each household member will reach the shower controls, move the hand shower and place it back on its support. Leave the normal shower entrance and standing area clear. For a shower replacement, identify which installed parts will stay and which will change.

Compare the valve identification with the trim instructions before arranging work on the finished wall. Consider how the controls are reached from outside the direct spray and whether the hand shower can be lifted comfortably from its support. For a tub-and-shower project, identify the function of each outlet and compare the planned arrangement with the exact trim instructions.

Keep the tub spout connection separate from the shower arm connection in the installation notes. Where a model is sold without a shower head, select that component from its own specifications and check the intended flow and connection arrangement before the work is scheduled.

Planning the sink layout

Measure the existing outlet positions, finished wall thickness and clearances around any shower arm or hand shower bracket. Identify where a hose could hang without blocking the controls or crossing the doorway. A replacement trim project and a new valve installation can require very different access to the plumbing. A useful planning sketch shows the wall outlets, control position, shower entrance and any hand shower hose route.

Measure from the finished surfaces that will remain after the project, including tile and any new finished wall surface. Compare outlet height, shower arm projection and wall clearance as separate dimensions. Do not rely on the apparent size in a product photo. Check whether existing wall openings and the installed valve can be reused before choosing replacement trim.

Keep enough space to tighten the mounting hardware and to reach the connections with suitable tools. Resolve fit questions before removing the existing fixture, particularly where finished walls cannot easily be opened. Mark the normal path into and out of the shower on the planning sketch. Check where the hose would rest and whether it could cross that path.

Keep the control, support bracket and outlet positions clear of shelving or other fittings, using the mounting instructions to establish the required spacing.

Installation & care

Installation and everyday care

Follow the installation instructions for T14459-LHD and the instructions for any connected equipment. Have the installer compare the site measurements, water connections and mounting arrangement before work begins. Identify the shutoff valves, protect the finished surfaces and inspect the existing supply connections. Use the specified fittings rather than forcing an adapter or changing a connection based on appearance.

After installation, check all accessible connections while the fixture is operating and again after it has been turned off. For everyday cleaning, start with a soft damp cloth and follow the finish care instructions for the exact model. Check the finish care instructions before using any cleaner or cleaning pad. Keep the shower outlets and moving controls free of accumulated residue using the approved cleaning method.

Treat installation and care as part of the complete shower setup, including the installed valve, outlets and any hand shower connection. After installation, test the operating settings using the manufacturer instructions and inspect each accessible connection. Check the hand shower support and hose movement before regular use. Keep the model and valve identification together with the plumbing records so future service refers to the installed components.

Product FAQs

How do I plan access and future maintenance?

Keep a record of the valve model, trim model and any hand shower connections. Plan access to the rough-in and follow the manufacturer maintenance instructions when a cartridge or other service part is needed. Locate the water shutoff before beginning work that opens a plumbing connection. Save the exact SKU, finish name and installation paperwork with the project records.

Photographs of accessible connections can help identify the arrangement later without dismantling finished surfaces. When a service part is needed, match the manufacturer part diagram for the exact model rather than choosing a visually similar component. Check for visible moisture after service, and inspect any area where tubing or a hose could rub against another object. If operation changes, consult the troubleshooting steps for this model before replacing unrelated parts.

Keep a record of any separately installed equipment and its model number as well. This makes future filter changes, plumbing service or fixture replacement easier to plan and helps the next person working on the installation understand how the components are connected.

What should I check before ordering?

Before ordering, compare the SKU T14459-LHD, finish name and configuration with the item you intend to replace. Read the current listing and inspect the available item photos, including close views where supplied. Confirm which parts are present with the actual unit: do not assume that the standard manufacturer package and an individual store listing have identical contents.

If an accessory is needed for your installation, identify its exact part number and check whether it must be purchased separately. Make a short checklist of the mounting fittings, connection fittings and other items your installer requires. Compare that checklist with the listing before arranging the work. Select the correct store view and check the current quantity and fulfillment choices there.

Bring the model number and installation measurements when asking about fit so the advice refers to the specific fixture and location.
