Product details

The Leland 9178TLV-AR-DST brings Delta’s traditional pull-down kitchen styling together with VoiceIQ, Touch2O, and touchless controls in Arctic Stainless. The merchant catalog image shows a silver-toned high arch, a flared spray wand, and a curved side lever above a shaped base. These softer contours give the faucet a more traditional outline while retaining the reach of a pull-down design.

The TLV model permits manual control, faucet taps, or touchless activation with a hand within 4 inches of the surface. VoiceIQ works with a compatible connected device to start and stop water, warm the flow, dispense measured quantities, and recall custom container amounts. TempSense indicates temperature through a changing LED color, and electronic flow has a four-minute automatic shutoff. VoiceIQ requires an unswitched outlet beneath the sink.

ShieldSpray combines a concentrated cleaning stream with a surrounding water shield to reduce splatter. MagnaTite magnetic docking retains the wand, and Touch-Clean outlets allow surface mineral deposits to be rubbed away. The spout swivels 360 degrees and uses a 20-inch retractable hose. Delta specifies 15-3/8 inches of overall height, 1.8 GPM flow at 60 psi, DIAMOND Seal valve technology, and integrated PEX connections. The model supports one-hole or three-hole, 8-inch mounting configurations.

The 9178TLV specification sheet adds useful planning details for this Arctic Stainless Leland faucet. It calls for at least 2-1/2 inches of clearance to the backsplash and illustrates 1-3/8-inch mounting holes. The three-hole arrangement uses eight-inch centers. The spray assembly has two integral check valves, and the three-function wand provides an aerated stream, spray and ShieldSpray. Its base indicator reports water temperature, on/off status and low batteries. Together, these details help compare the sink's mounting layout, nearby surfaces and the faucet's spray controls before installation.

The electronic sensing design also makes correct mounting isolation important. Delta's installation sheet places the base tab and the bracket's isolation feature within the sink hole; the threaded shank must stay clear of the hole edge for proper touch operation. Beneath the sink, excess PEX tubing can form broad loops with a recommended minimum bend diameter of eight inches. The document requires check valves at the supply stops and prohibits pipe compound or other sealants on the water-line connections.

Compare the sink's holes with the Leland family drawing: it shows 1-3/8-inch holes and eight-inch centers for three-hole mounting. Delta specifies a minimum 2-1/2-inch clearance to the backsplash. Check the space behind the faucet and the positions of other fittings alongside the selected mounting arrangement.

The Leland parts diagram identifies RP62057 as a 62-inch hose assembly. That measurement describes the complete service hose, including the section passing through the faucet and beneath the sink. It does not describe the wand's above-sink extension. Check the exact hose and connection arrangement against the model's diagram when selecting a replacement.

Buying guide

Choosing this faucet

Use the complete model number 9178TLV-AR-DST when comparing this kitchen faucet with other fixtures. The finish suffix and feature suffixes help distinguish similar looking products, so compare the exact model rather than only the collection name. Choose around the tasks performed at this sink: filling containers, rinsing produce or washing dishes. Compare the spout position with the bowl center and consider how the handle will be reached. For a secondary prep sink, use the actual bowl dimensions rather than assuming a smaller countertop requires a particular faucet size. Use the product details and specifications above to narrow the choice, then compare the manufacturer drawing with the space where the fixture will be installed. Check the actual item photos and current listing information for the unit you are considering. A model reference image shows the design; it does not establish the condition or contents of an individual item. Think about how the fixture will be used by everyone in the household, and where frequently used containers or dishes will sit during filling or rinsing.

Can the touchless sensitivity be changed or switched off? Close the handle and hold the base for six seconds to cycle modes. Reopen the handle afterward. Five blue flashes indicate high sensitivity, four purple flashes low sensitivity, and three red flashes touchless off. Delta recommends high sensitivity for stainless steel or granite, and low sensitivity for porcelain, acrylic, quartz, laminate or Corian.

Where should I place my hand for touchless operation? The sensing zone extends about four inches from the spout, base or handle, with the strongest response beneath the spout's arc. It detects a person rather than a container, and the pull-down wand is outside the activation zone. Keep the handle open for electronic control. A finger, wrist or forearm can also tap the fixed faucet surfaces to start or stop water.

What happens to VoiceIQ during a power outage? VoiceIQ needs continuous outlet power for its wireless connection and voice commands. If outlet power is lost, those functions stop. Delta says touch operation remains available when the battery pack is connected and charged, and the handle can still control water. Voice operation resumes automatically when outlet power returns. An outlet controlled by a disposal switch is unsuitable for continuous voice operation. For a replacement project, decide which parts of the existing setup will stay: the sink, countertop, drain, water treatment equipment and supply valves can each affect the final choice. Write down the problem you want the new fixture to solve, such as reaching a different part of the bowl or making the controls easier to reach. Compare that goal with the exact model features above.

Planning the sink layout

Measure the mounting holes, countertop thickness and space between the faucet and backsplash. Check the full handle movement and the clearance under nearby cabinets or shelves. If the model has a moving spray wand, leave a clear path beneath the sink for the hose and its return movement. A useful planning sketch shows the mounting position, bowl outline, nearby fittings and plumbing route. Measure from the finished surfaces that will remain after the project, including tile, a new backsplash or a replacement countertop. Compare spout reach and overall height as separate dimensions; the height of the outlet is different again. Do not rely on the apparent size in a product photo. If covering unused mounting holes is part of the plan, check the exact accessory and its dimensions before drilling or ordering. Keep enough space to tighten the mounting hardware and to reach the connections with suitable tools. Resolve fit questions before removing the existing fixture, particularly where the sink or countertop cannot easily be modified. Check both the space above the sink and the space below it. A cabinet shelf, garbage disposal or storage organizer may restrict access even when the countertop has room for the faucet. Make a simple cardboard outline from the manufacturer drawing if the position is difficult to visualize, and check the handle movement against the surrounding finished surfaces. For a new countertop, have the installer confirm the hole location and required diameter from the exact technical drawing before cutting. Do not use a photograph to set these dimensions. If an existing hole will be reused, check its position and condition along with the available room for the mounting hardware beneath the finished surface. Think about how the sink area will be used when more than one person is working nearby. Check whether the handle, outlet and any separate accessory can be reached without moving other frequently used items. Plan a convenient place for cleaning supplies that keeps the faucet base visible and does not obstruct normal operation.

Installation & care

Installation and everyday care

Follow the installation instructions for 9178TLV-AR-DST and the instructions for any connected equipment. Have the installer compare the site measurements, water connections and mounting arrangement before work begins. Identify the shutoff valves, protect the finished surfaces and inspect the existing supply connections. Use the specified fittings rather than forcing an adapter or changing a connection based on appearance. After installation, check all accessible connections while the fixture is operating and again after it has been turned off. For everyday cleaning, start with a soft damp cloth and follow the finish care instructions for the exact model. Check the finish care instructions before using any cleaner or cleaning pad. Keep the outlet and moving controls free of accumulated residue using the approved cleaning method. Treat installation and care as part of the complete sink or shower setup, including any connected drain, filtration or heating equipment.

How should ShieldSpray be used for cleaning dishes? Undock the wand and bring it close to the dish before pressing the ShieldSpray button. Delta's instructions position the dish halfway through the surrounding water bubble and advise against pressing the button while the wand is docked. The cleaning function returns to the aerated setting when its button is released. Performance is optimized above 35 psi; the spray pattern can look different at lower pressure.

How should the Arctic Stainless surface be cleaned? For routine care of this Arctic Stainless faucet, use a damp non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth, then dry the surface with a clean soft cloth. Drying removes droplets before they leave mineral residue. Delta recommends warm water for water spots; its general finish guidance allows equal parts white vinegar and water for hard-water stains, followed by a thorough rinse. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh polish, bleach-based products, and products intended to remove rust or tarnish. Before the installer starts, keep the model instructions and the intended fittings together at the work area. A dry fit can help reveal clearance or connection issues before the mounting hardware is tightened. Keep the protective packaging until the surfaces have been inspected, and use the manufacturer procedure when flushing or testing the completed installation. When moving from the old fixture to the new one, inspect the accessible mounting surface before fitting the replacement. A damaged or uneven surface can require separate preparation; have the installer decide how to address it before tightening the new mounting hardware. Keep the working area clear so each connection can be checked without reaching around stored items.

Product FAQs

How do I plan access and future maintenance?

Keep the shutoff valves and faucet connections accessible. On a faucet with a pull-down or pull-out wand, avoid storage that catches the hose or interferes with its return. Check the hose path after reorganizing the cabinet, because the available space can change as more items are stored below the sink. Save the exact SKU, finish name and installation paperwork with the project records. Photographs of accessible connections can help identify the arrangement later without dismantling finished surfaces. When a service part is needed, match the manufacturer part diagram for the exact model rather than choosing a visually similar component. Check for visible moisture after service, and inspect any area where tubing or a hose could rub against another object. If operation changes, consult the troubleshooting steps for this model before replacing unrelated parts. Keep a record of any separately installed equipment and its model number as well. This makes future filter changes, plumbing service or fixture replacement easier to plan and helps the next person working on the installation understand how the components are connected.

Which spray-head reference should I use for service? The 9178TLV parts diagram identifies the ShieldSpray assembly as RP90841 with a finish marker, and lists RP90248 for its aerator and wrench. Match the service assembly to this faucet's Arctic Stainless finish and exact model. The drawing's references help distinguish the spray assembly from the hose and handle components. When documenting the installation, record the mounting arrangement and the location of shutoff valves. Keep separate records for any connected equipment so its maintenance schedule can be followed independently. If a later repair requires moving hoses or tubing, check their routing again after the work and make sure the cabinet can close without pinching a connection. Keep a clear distinction between the faucet model and any separately connected appliance or treatment system in your records. Replacement cartridges, aerators and mounting parts should be selected from the correct model diagram. A component from another fixture in the same collection may look similar while having a different connection, length or mounting arrangement.

What should I check before ordering?

Before ordering, compare the SKU 9178TLV-AR-DST, finish name and configuration with the item you intend to replace. Read the current listing and inspect the available item photos, including close views where supplied. Confirm which parts are present with the actual unit: do not assume that the standard manufacturer package and an individual store listing have identical contents. If an accessory is needed for your installation, identify its exact part number and check whether it must be purchased separately. Make a short checklist of the mounting fittings, connection fittings and other items your installer requires. Compare that checklist with the listing before arranging the work. Select the correct store view and check the current quantity and fulfillment choices there. Bring the model number and installation measurements when asking about fit so the advice refers to the specific fixture and location. For a multi-item project, make sure the finish and model on each order line match the room plan. Similar finish names across different brands may have different tones. Compare samples or actual item photos where possible, and confirm any separately selected dispenser, drain or trim part on its own listing instead of assuming it accompanies the faucet. Consider the objects that are routinely brought to this sink, including tall bottles, trays or large bowls. Check whether they fit under the outlet or whether a movable wand would need to be used. The bowl depth and faucet position work together, so compare the actual dimensions of both when planning a comfortable filling area. If the item will be collected for a scheduled installation, check the current store selection and listing before making the trip. Keep the product identification with the order information so the exact model and finish can be compared at collection. Have any fit questions resolved while the measurements and technical drawing are available, rather than relying on a collection name from memory.
